The Basic Laboratory
Human Process (BLHP) laboratory is a
one-week program intended to help the participant gain insights
into his own behavior and his impact on others. It also attempts
to provide an opportunity to experiment with new behavior leading
to growth and effectiveness.
The
Advanced
Laboratory Human Process (ALHP) laboratory is for those who have
gone through the BLHP laboratory. The laboratory attempts to provide
an opportunity to the participant to work on issues critical to
further his own growth and effectiveness.
The
Professional Development Program intends to develop professionals
capable of conducting sensitivity training or similar experiential
learning based laboratories. Those who have gone through a BLHP,
ALHP and demonstrated an aptitude for laboratory education and
applied behavioral sciences are admitted to the Professional Development
Program. They are required to go through three Phases usually
ranging over 3 years.
In the First Phase they learn about themselves, behavioral processes
in systems and diagnostic methods for change in systems through
a two-week intensive laboratory.
In the Second Phase they gain an in-depth understanding into human
processes, process diagnostic methods for change in systems through
a two-week intensive laboratory. In the Second Phase they gain
an in-depth understanding into human processes, process diagnosis
of individuals, groups, systems and organizations, intervention
strategies for change, models of laboratory education, designing
laboratory training, etc.
In the Third Phase, called the Internship Phase, the candidate
is expected to work as a co-trainer along with other trainers
or participate in conducting other interventions. Between the
Three Phases the candidate is required to go through related books
and readings, work with other ISABS professionals to gain more
understanding and skills in process facilitation through research
and other projects .
This program is both for those who are already Graduates in Behavioural
Science or non-Behavioural Science disciplines, as the education
provided through this program is not available in any university
or other educational institution of India.
OTHER PROGRAMS
One of the objectives of ISABS is to generate new Behavioural
Science knowledge and technology, experiment with it and disseminate
it to others. In tune with this objective the Professional Members
of ISABS keep offering new laboratory programs for a variety of
groups from time to time. In the recent years, the focus of the
new labs have been on the social services sector including government
systems, voluntary agencies, youth, health and educational institutions,
extension workers, social workers, etc. Special programs dealing
with women are also offered. Some of these programs dealing with
women are also offered. Some of these programs include:
Laboratory
on Extension Motivation for developing a high degree of concern
for "helping" others for those in helping professions (e.g., medicine,
social work, development administration, employee welfare, labor
unions, education, voluntary work, entrepreneurship development,
etc,)
HRD and OD Facilitator's
Laboratory for enhancing the Human Resource and Organization
Development competencies of HRD Personnel and Training Managers.
Personal Growth Laboratory
for Women to help them develop a deeper understanding of their
own inner world, the multiple roles they play, and initiate processes
to strengthen one's own self.
Creativity Workshops
for developing creative abilities in one's own self and facilitating
creativity development in others.
Laboratory in Applied
Behavioural Sciences for Trainers of Civil Servants to develop
behavioral science training competencies. This lab attempts to
equip participants with abilities to use structured exercises,
role- plays and other structured or semi-structured methods for
training government staff.
Personal Growth Laboratories
for Youth to help them gain insights into their behavior, and
help them set career and other developmental goals, for a better
future.
In addition, ISABS holds conferences and seminars and other programs
from time to time.
